Michael R. Begis


Mike is employed as a Municipal Project Manager with KPI Technology, a civil/environmental engineering consulting firm located in Elysburg. He has both an Associate in Engineering Technology degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He also holds a certificate in business management from The Pennsylvania State University. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Region High School. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Construction Institute, the State Association of Dam Safety Officials and the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors.


He currently serves his community as Vice Chairman of the Board of Township Supervisors. He volunteers his time coaching AYSO soccer and youth baseball. Mike was born and raised in Mt. Carmel having lived in the Borough for 43 years before relocating with his wife Marsha and two sons Mason and Mitchell.

Chris Venna


Chris is the Middle/High School Principal at Shamokin Area and has been since 2004.  Prior to his tenure at Shamokin Area, Chris earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering graduating Magna Cum Laude from Bucknell University in 1994 and earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University in 2003.  He holds administrative certifications through Bucknell University and Wilkes University in the areas of Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility and Principal (K-12), respectively.  He also holds teaching certifications through Susquehanna University in the areas of Mathematics (7-12) and Physics (7-12).


Chris serves on several local boards, including the Brush Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (Treasurer), the LCCC (Shamokin campus) Advisory Board, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, the Family Home Medical Advisory Board, and the PIAA District IV Board of Directors.  He is also a member of the Shamokin Area PTSA and was awarded the Dr. Walt Kealey Leadership Award for Inspired Leadership by the Pennsylvania PTA in 2009.  He volunteers locally as an AYSO U-6 Soccer Coach in Shamokin and CYO D Level Basketball Coach in Mount Carmel.  Most recently, he became a certified PIAA Basketball Official.  He also volunteers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, March of Dimes, Special Olympics, and American Heart Association.  He is a lifelong resident of the Brush Valley Region.  On a personal level, he enjoys spending time with his wife Tara and five year old twin daughters Gabrielle and Gianna.  During his spare time he enjoys attending local sporting events and exercising.








Edward Christiano


Ed is the Executive Director for the Housing Authority of Northumberland County and CEO of the Housing Development Corporation of Northumberland County where he has been employed for the last 25 years, 19 of which he was the Executive Director. Ed is a founding board member of the Pennsylvania Affordable Housing Corporation. Prior to working for the Housing Authority of Northumberland County, Ed served as an auditor for the PA Department of Treasury.


He is an active member of the National Leased Housing Association, National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, Public Housing Authorities Directors Association, Eastern Association of Housing Authorities, Northumberland County Planning Commission and People for Progress Coalition. He serves as the President for the Pennsylvania Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies, is Past President of the Eastern Association of Pennsylvania Housing Authority's, a member of the Board of Directors of the Housing and Redevelopment Insurance Exchange and serves as treasurer for the Forest Hill Fire Company and Northumberland County Recreation Committee.








Regional Vice President, Shamokin

Harry Morgan

Harry is an employee of Central Susquehanna Opportunities, Inc. and serves as an Employer Services Representative with PA CareerLink Northumberland County. Prior to this position, he served as CareerLink Administrator of the Montour and Northumberland County PA CareerLinks. He serves as Chairman of the local Business Services Team, and is the Central Workforce Nine-County Region Healthcare Industry Partnership Liaison. Harry served as a prior Chamber Board of Director, and served many years with Business and Education Partnerships. In addition to serving on several Chamber Sub-Committee’s, Harry has been very community oriented serving as a PA Notary Public, Vice-Chairman of the Mt. Carmel Area High School Educational Foundation, and Chairman of the local Joint Municipality Recreation Committee.

Warren Altomare

Warren was born and raised in the Mount Carmel area. He and his family have owned and operated small businesses in the lower Northumberland County area since 1956. He was manager of Altomare Waste Disposal from 1974 until 1999 and participated in the management of Meldot’s Children Shop during its tenure on the main street of Mount Carmel. In January of 2005, he purchased Family Home Medical and Family Home Medical Support Services and currently operates both companies out of offices in Mount Carmel.He served for 10 years on the Mount Carmel Borough Council and was a member and Chairman of the Mount Carmel Recreation Authority for several years. He served on the Board of Directors of Ashland Medical Center for 9 years and was President of Tri County Health Associates during that time. He is a member of the Mount Carmel Lions Club for the past 28 years and is a past president of the club.
