The Center was first established in 2005. They purchased the former Electrical Union building in 2011 at 150 S. Market Street in Shamokin. They recently opened up their doors to five days a week beginning September 15, 2014.

Margaret Conrad, the Executive Director of the Center, would like to emphasize the Earn While You Learn Program. This program educates men and women on parenting. A program incentive that is offered is that they are given coupons to spend in the Earn While You Learn Store. The store includes new or nearly new items such as cribs, high-chairs, clothing, diapers, wipes, etc.

The Pregnancy Care Center is different among other agencies because they are a Christian based organization that relies on funding from donations rather then government agencies.
